hi, it will be great to have that plugin.
i had spend a lot of time to find a good solution for my needs, and i think i had found one, which i like more as the "origional-one".
please have an eye on http://www.dhteumeuleu.com/run/image-flow/ this guy have made some awesome effects.
if this up comming plugin will has like an option to define, if the previous or next covers will display overlayed or placed next to like in the named demo, it will be great for my needs.
